Magazine Monday

I know, it's actually a Tuesday but this post was just too fun to pass up. Triple L Designs is going to start a new segment called Magazine Monday. Every Monday we will pick a different magazine and feature what inspires us and catches the designer eye!

This Monday's magazine inspiration comes from the May 2011 Traditional Home Magazine. Located in Toronto, Canada, this kitchen remodel not only has great design features but its functional space and layout is what every serious cook dreams of when designing their perfect kitchen.

The first thing that popped out in this kitchen is the non-traditional color of the cabinetry. The whisper blue paint color sets this kitchen apart from the typical white or stained cabinet doors we see in most homes. It gives this 1920's home a fresh look and the color was actually inspired by the owners favorite candle color, which shows that inspiration can come from anywhere. And did you notice the two islands? Having two islands with a path between allows easy movement and better organized work stations. The one closest to the stove is perfect for prepping while the other primarily is used for serving and socializing in the kitchen.

The glass front fridge provides an organized space seen by all but also helps you keep items stocked and easy to locate. With stainless steel appliances, light colored cabinets and floors combined with the dark stained islands in this kitchen give the perfect amount of light without making the room too bright.

And did I mention the gorgeous pendents hanging over the islands. I think I may need to fit these into our next clients house!

To top if off, every great kitchen deserves a flat screen television. Put it on Food Network and you can get inspired to make a fabulous dish for the whole family.

Thanks for participating in Magazine Monday! So many wonderful ideas when it comes to remodeling your kitchen or building from ground up. Tell me what your favorite kitchen features are or what you dream of having in your perfect kitchen!
