Magazine Monday: Elle Decor Sept. 2011

This year seems to be flying by!  It's hard to believe that September will be here by the end of this week.  Which also means that Christmas will be showing up at our door step in no time!  Ok enough stressing about timing, lol!  It's Magazine Monday and today's edition is once again from the amazing issue of Elle Decor

Side tables may be a small piece of furniture in your living space but they make a big statement.  Whether you are hosting a party or cuddling up to watch a good movie, a nearby table is always welcome.  Interior designers Timothy Whealon and Lee Kleinhelter sized up a small array of occasional tables for us readers.

Magazine Monday: Elle Decor Sept. 2011

The new school year has officially begun and the streets are filled with buses, children and wonderful mom's!  It also means that the September magazine issues are arriving in our mailboxes and they are extra thick!  It's pure heaven in our office!

Today's Magazine Monday is from the new September 2011 issue of Elle Decor.

The owners of this fantastic San Francisco house.  I must say the have impeccable taste!

The living room is covered in velvet from the the walls to the curtains to the sofa.  So warm and rich!

I am in love with this room.  The apple green is divine in this room and the peacock in the corner makes it even more luxurious and such a wonderful talker piece.

and this entryway is stunning with the black and white checkered floors and pops of red throughout the decor

I would love to have these windows in my next house.  Absolutely gorgeous!

The home office

Can you believe the sight of this room.  It's a paradise inside and really what is there not to love?!  The seating is to die for!

And I am sensing that these owners love peacocks and the wonderful colors they are adorned with!

The upstairs hallway is covered in a series of prints by Sol LeWitt.

Would you believe me if I told you this sculpture was made of paper plates?  Well it is.  Tara Donovan created this piece and I must admit it's really interesting and fun.

The master bedroom is stunning with the color of raspberry popping from the curtains to the bedding and the amazing seating area near the fireplace.

Happy Monday!  May your week be stress free!

Pinnable Me

I am completely obsessed with Pinterest.  It's one of my favorite go to places for inspiration and design.  It's hard to imagine that there is one place filled with so many ideas, styles and fun.
So what have we been pinning lately?

Shopping Wonderland

One of my favorite things about being an interior designer is going out and shopping for the client.  The ability to create a different design and style for each client is really rewarding and fun.  Each is so different; some have no idea what their heart desires, some know exactly what they want and others are a little bit in between.

When shopping for clients it is important to have items that represent who they are, have a few elements that are one of a kind and a few talker pieces.  Shopping days are fun and exhausting all at the same time.  On this particular day Triple L Designs was in search of lighting, art work and pillows.  Of course I love taking pictures of everything for inspiration and oohing and awing! So here are some of the pictures that I thought you might enjoy as well.  Seriously I want one of everything please!

How fun is this chandelier?!

Bedding...yes please!

Two things really stood out to me in this picture:  that gorgeous gold mirror and that amazing table.  I just love the drawers and the color of the wood.

Such amazing detail.  Definitely one of a kind!

Possible lamp for client?

Lauren absolutely hates taking pictures but that day I didn't give her a choice.  She just recently chopped off all her hair and not everyone has seen it! So chic right?!

This horse head lamp was one of my favorites of the day.  If you know me I adore all animal figurines and this one was extra ordinary as the main was made of sea shells.  Completely in LOVE!

Each corner of the store is filled with amazing items.  My wishlist was growing!

I need this artwork...and everything else in this picture!

This does not do it justice.  This light fixture was amazing and the glow that it created was soft and stunning!  If you love copper this is the perfect fixture for you!

Imagine this chair in a swanky ladies office!  Fun!

Yes, please add this to my cart...Gorgeous

I think we found some winners for the client.  Warm lampshade and extra tall.  Perfect for any entry table!

And last but not least...what do you think of this chair?  I just adored the use of the leather and linen together with the nailheads.  Such a great combination!

Ok now you have a little sneak peek into our designer shopping day.  It's alot of fun but after a full day of shopping all I wanted was a glass of wine and the comfort of my bed, lol!

So what pieces do you enjoy shopping for the most?  Let us know and the next time we are out I will be sure to snap away in that direction!  Hope you are all having a fabulous week so far!

Magazine Monday: Organization

Ok its a late Monday night but wow have we been busy with Triple L Designs.  I couldn't go through the day without posting what I have been up to this afternoon.  Today's Magazine Monday is a little different from our normal edition.  I don't know about you, but at our house it seems that we receive at least one or two magazines a day in the mailbox.  There are piles here and there stacked with cooking, home decor and style/entertainment magazines.  You name we've got it, it's our secret obsession.

I am a bit of a neat freak so piles make me cringe but to let go of my favorite magazine issues make me cringe even more.  The solution:  Binders and sheet protectors (an organizers dream).

Here are just a few stacks of magazines that I had laying around the house.

By using binders and sheet protectors I was able to cut my piles by more than half.  I pulled all my favorite articles, pictures and designs and grouped them by 3 categories:  Home Design, Fashion/Beauty and Recipes.  What a huge difference it made!  Not only did I de-clutter but I also created a go to space for all my ideas and inspirations.

Check out the difference.  The piles in the back are all the magazines that I went through. In the end I totalled 3 binders with plenty of space to continue filling my idea books.

Home Design Binder...

Fashion/Beauty Binder...

and a Recipe Binder.

I just love organization!  So go grab your magazines, binders and sheet protectors and start tearing away and stuffing!  Hope this helps you de-clutter your magazines and store all your favorites articles and pictures in one place! Happy Monday!
