Magazine Monday: Elle Decor

Happy Monday Lovelies!!!  Hope you all had a wonderful summer weekend!  Ours was fun and relaxing just wish it could have lasted a little bit longer.

Today's Magazine Monday post comes from June's Elle Decor article The Lake Effect.  This villa rests on the shore of Lake Geneva and incorporates Italian antiques, classical art and rich patterns and colors.

The back garden overlooks Lake Geneva, in Prangins, Switzerland.  Its stunning view and well manicured lawns make for a perfect outdoor scenery.  Can you imagine an outdoor tea party with this view?!  Gorgeous!

I love the suspended 19th century birdcages used as chandeliers.  It helps to bring the outside feeling in!

The owner, Fawaz Gruosi, also the founder of the jewelry firm De Grisogono, stands under the rose arbor in his front garden.  They added this arbor to bring in more romance to the home.  I think they aced it!

The rich ruby colors and classical touches such as the art work, Rebecca Clothing Jacob, and the 18th century pharmacy cabinet holding antique books brings a classical feeling without making it feel stuffy.

Another stunning garden!

The study is sophisticated and I am loving the detail in the desk chair and the desk is strong and masculine!

The master bathroom, the fresco of lions' head was inspired by Gruosi's zodiac sign, Leo.  It feels very regal.

And this master bedroom is warm and rich with the ruby velvet throughout the room.  It's a room fit for a king.  It was highly influenced by the Florentine style the owners tried to incorporate throughout the house.

Overall, this house is grand and luxurious!  The classical feel in modern times brings an appreciation for the the past and all the wonderful pieces that came from it that are still incorporated in houses today.  Now if I can just make a trip to Lake Geneva!

Don't forget to sign up for the E-Design giveaway!  Hope your Monday is productive and fabulous!
